Having been a member of the New Zealand Professional Fishing Guides Association since 1994 I specialize in the exclusive sighting and stalking of oversized Brown and Rainbow trout. I take pride in upskilling all anglers so that not only do they leave having had the greatest fly fishing experience they also depart a fly fisher with the necessary skills to succeed on one of the most demanding stages in fly fishing, that being New Zealand.
AREA:
Within and around the confines of World Heritage listed Fiordland National Park harbor some of the finest trout streams on the planet.Amid towering glacial carved mountains flow the most pristine freestone rivers which are home to wild Brown and Rainbow Trout.
DESCRIPTION:
Options include guiding on a daily basis by 4 wheel drive, where a variety of local rivers and streams are within a short drive from Te Anau.
In addition to guiding locally there are multi day Wilderness Trips deep into the heart of Fiordland.
For those with a passion for wild places there exits no wilder place in New Zealand than the immense Fiordland National Park and a Fly Fishing excursion into this area is one of the great adventures in the Angling world. A combination of local and wilderness waters gives anglers a great overview of what the area offers.
The remote Western Fiordland wilderness waters are for the domain of Helicopters and we use these to access these very infrequently visited streams.
Any New Zealand Fly Fishing itinerary would not be
complete without some time spent with Dean Bell.
